Software Tuning

Software tuning or remapping, enables programming directly onto the ECU of the vehicle. This allows Footprint Performance to provide a custom tune for a larger variety of cars, tractors, trucks and motorcycles. Some newer vehicles do not respond well to chip tuning, and only a customised remap is possible. We only have our customer’s needs in mind, and provide the best possible solution per vehicle, using the best providers in the world to perform these tuning options via the vehicle’s software.

The options to perform, DPF removal, EGR removal, AdBlue removal, DTC removal, Speed Limiter removal, Start-Stop removal and Lamda Off are available via software tuning.

Chip Tuning

Chip tuning with multi-map technology means that four to eight data maps are stored in the memory and suitably retrieved depending on the desired driving behaviour. This gives an optimum match of the control parameters in each performance range.The processors used are of particular importance. For them what is important is not the maximum number of map operations (arithmetic operations / sec.), but the fact that the calculation cycle corresponds exactly to that of the main engine control unit.This is the only way to ensure that fine scanning of the grid is possible in real-time and the protection functions of the ECU (main control unit) are unaffected.

Self-learning auto calibration Chip Tuning

Another development is the ability of systems to learn the unique characteristics of their vehicle. During a short run-in period, the memory function gathers the individual data on the different injection cycles. The information obtained serves as a basis for optimization. This way, standard tolerances are compensated for and the best results obtained for each vehicle – without any complicated manual settings.

  • Commonrail System (Stage 1) – Diesel

    Commonrail systems consisting of high-tech electronics and is well protected by a special, heat and acid-resistant plastic. Connects to the diesel vehicle’s commonrail pressure plug.
    The commonrail unit increases diesel rail pressure, that increases engine power by up to 20%. If driving style is adjusted, the unit can even allow fuel consumption to be reduced by up to 15%.

    This is a very reliable and economical way to tune a diesel vehicle and provides a very economical tune for a price that fits any pocket.

  • PDI10-System (Stage 3) – Diesel

    With the exclusive PDI10 system up to eight parameters can be changed via various sensors. Additional power is achieved depending on rpm (if necessary) by changing the amount of fuel injected in relation to a change in the boost pressure. The maximum of eight parameters include amount of fuel injected, boost pressure, air mass, rpm, temperature and load conditions.

    The PDI10 system consists of high-tech electronics and is well protected by a special, heat and acid-resistant plastic. Completely waterproof!

    The cable harness is equipped with a maximum of ten connections and is checked electronically several times before shipment. The sturdy 18-pin connector from the automotive sector is specially designed for tough conditions. The adapter plugs are manufactured in OEM quality. No soldering or cutting any wires is necessary. Just connect it up and it’s done!

    The PDI10 has four user-selectable programmes, that increases engine power by up to 30%. If driving style is adjusted, the unit can even allow fuel consumption to be reduced by up to 15%. The four modes available are SPORT mode, SPORT Plus mode, ECO mode and Towing mode.
